Treatment Tools

Your personalized treatment plan will utilized treatment tools designed to bring relief to your symptoms.

NeuroReset

NeuroReset is a 5-day intensive neurorehabilitation program designed for patients experiencing symptoms such as mood swings, memory lapses, migraines, and dizziness weeks or months after a brain injury. NeuroReset is created and customized for each patient based on our evaluation and can include an array of the treatment tools described below. Our patients have reported significant relief following this intensive therapy. Learn more about NeuroReset.

EXOMIND

EXOMIND™ is used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and utilizes ExoTMS™ technology to target and stimulate specific parts of the brain. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) uses electromagnetic induction to create a targeted electric field, but ExoTMS™ uses a different pulse approach. Traditional repetitive TMS (rTMS) uses a rectangular wave while ExoTMS™ uses a ramp-up pulse. The ramp-up pulses are a more gradual method for delivering energy that maximizes comfort and makes the therapy more sustainable for the patient. This treatment can increase neurotransmitter concentration and neuron connectivity, resulting in improved neuroplasticity in key target areas.

Virtual Reality (VR) Virtualis

The VR system revolutionizes rehabilitation for patients across a spectrum of neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease, ataxia, hemineglect, stroke, post-concussion syndrome, TBI, and so much more.

Specifically in concussion management, it serves as a diagnostic tool by measuring a patient's limits of stability and integrating somatosensory, visual, and vestibular systems.

This allows clinicians to pinpoint weaknesses and determine the dominant sensory systems each patient relies on. Tailoring rehabilitation plans based on these insights allows for highly personalized treatment strategies.

Moreover, the VR system facilitates functional rehabilitation, refining strategies for hip, knee, and ankle movements, and enhancing everyday activities by simulating realistic environments such as supermarkets, crowded spaces, and escalators.

Oculomotor rehabilitation

Many patients experience vision impairment following a brain injury. These symptoms can include blurred vision, double vision, light sensitivity, pain, as well as difficulty reading and scanning that disrupts school, work, and play. Vision therapy can include exercises and functional skill work designed to improve tracking, focus, depth perception, visual processing, and spatial awareness.

Vestibular therapy

The vestibular (inner ear) and visual systems are intimately connected, and a brain injury can disrupt the connection between them, resulting in an unpleasant loss of equilibrium. Imagine watching a video in which the audio and picture are not in sync. Through our evaluation and treatment, we can repair the connection between the vestibular and visual systems to get your “audio and video” back in sync. Additionally, because the eye and inner ear together activate broad regions of the brain, they provide a powerful rehabilitative tool.

Reaction time therapy

Studies show a concussion can cause delays in reaction time, even when no other symptoms are present. We measure reaction time using RightEye and apply a variety of tasks and therapies designed to restore optimal reaction times.

GyroStim

The GyroStim is a type of vestibular therapy that allows the patient to perform a variety of exercises and challenges while seated in a multi-axis rotational chair controlled by a computer program.

The GyroStim can provide relief for symptoms associated with concussion, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s autism, ataxia, vertigo, multiple sclerosis, age-related balance disorders, and other neurological conditions.

It has been shown to help athletes and patients of all ages improve reaction time, balance, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness.

Alpha-Stim

The Alpha-Stim is a cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) device used to treat an array of symptoms. The device uses a tiny microcurrent that mimics electrical currents in the brain to stimulate nerve cells. Studies show that the device is effective for treating headaches and migraines too.

Somatosensory Evoked Potential (SSEP)

SSEP is a form of electro-stimulation therapy that can be used to find and assess injuries to the brain and nervous system.

We use a device that sends a gentle signal to the brain and then tracks and measures the response, allowing us to pinpoint areas in need of treatment.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation

This therapy involves the use of electrodes to stimulate motor nerves in order to decrease pain, calm muscle spasms, and promote healing. Repetition of electrical muscle stimulation treatments has been shown to increase muscle strength and the efficiency of how muscles use oxygen, so this therapy is appropriate for both injury rehabilitation and for athletes looking to improve their performance.

Concentrated Oxygen Therapy

The body needs oxygen to heal damaged tissue, maintain brain function, and create energy. Patients who are struggling to recover from injuries or illness may benefit from concentrated oxygen therapy, in which concentrated oxygen is delivered to the body via a small nasal tube.

Photobiomodulation

This non-invasive therapy applies a class 3B laser stimulation through the skull to target specific networks in the brain. Studies are showing this new technology can stimulate healing, improve circulation, and reduce swelling and inflammation.

Low-Level Laser Therapy (Cold Laser)

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) helps repair damaged nerves, using wavelengths of light to increase cellular energy and stimulate cellular function. Improvements in cellular function help with the absorption of nutrients and protein-building.

Vielight®

When the body’s natural means of creating energy for cell repair and regrowth are damaged, we use a therapy called photobiomodulation to generate that cell energy artificially. The Vielight device applies near-infrared light (NIR) energy that is converted to cellular energy that accelerates cell regeneration and healing.
